Being an Exhibiting Artist at the Pittenweem Arts Festival is both exciting and rewarding. With over 20,000 visitors, the Festival provides an opportunity to showcase and sell your work, and speak directly to our visitors.

We welcome all professional artists.  We do not have a selection process but artists must first find and confirm a venue in the village before registering to take part. As the Festival has grown over the years Pittenweem now hosts over 100 artists in over 70 venues. Historically, these are private arrangements between artists and venue owners.

As a registered artist, we will feature you on our website, and in our highly popular Festival brochure. We will also feature you in our social media campaign both before and during the event.

The form has information on fees and other requirements, including the provision of images for our promotional materials, but do check our Key Facts below for specific details.

The deadline for inclusion in the Festival is the 15th March 2024.

Key Facts for Registration

We are presently creating an ‘Artist’s Area’ that covers helpful information about exhibiting at the Festival. In the meantime, here are some key facts that it is important to know when registering. For specific information, contact us.

The Festival does not have a large stock of venues, and traditionally artists have negotiated their spaces privately. The venues are often rental properties, resident’s houses or spaces such as garages, sheds or temporary shelters. Direct contacts within Pittenweem are helpful, as often are previous exhibiting artists.

We are always looking for venues that our visiting artists could use. See below for more information.

Your Artwork: Description & Images

The artwork exhibited should be predominantly new for 2024 – in our research this has proven to be very important to our visitors. To encourage visitors to your venue, the images you supply should be of a high standard. At registration we ask for three images, one of which will be the key image in the Festival brochure. As such, the images should be high res jpeg files, with the primary image labelled ‘brochure’. The images should be sent to

Must Haves

The exhibiting artists should represent themselves, not any commercial galleries organisations. The work of only the artist named in this application will be detailed and promoted. No other artist(s) will be shown in the venue highlighted, unless they have paid the registration fee.

All our artists must have Public Liability Insurance – and it must be in place before the Festival begins (for example through Insurance cannot be shared with another artist. Unfortunately, artists without insurance will not be able to participate. The venue must also conform the Health and Safety standards, with Fire Exits clearly signposted.

Key dates & fees

The Registration Form has to be completed (including uploading images) by the 15th March 2024.

Once your form has been submitted, we will issue you with an invoice. The Registration fee is £325 and is payable by BACS – details of which will be on the invoice.

The fee is due no later than the 30th April 2024.
